B-Class Language Takes on the World

New words pour out almost every day. While 'school cafeteria speak'—the style frequently used by the generation that eats school meals, namely teenagers—is encroaching on teenagers' language life, there are also many who voice concern and criticism about this phenomenon. Is it a generational gap or a socio-cultural environmental difference? Maybe both, but today's teenagers seem to be putting all their effort into tearing down the language culture that previous generations carefully built and constructing their own world. Adolescence is a time when the influence and scope of 'language's destructive power' becomes absolutely greater.
