Why Not Read Mongminsimseo Once?

A Korean classic you should read at least once in your life: Mongminsimseo. Read it together—easily and enjoyably, deeply and freshly. Mongminsimseo is Jeong Yak-yong's masterpiece, an excellent historical record for examining the troubled late Joseon period, and a famous book that countless people still recommend over 200 years later. But the truth is, not everyone can read it easily. With its massive volume of 400,000 characters written in Classical Chinese and passages that are hard to understand without background knowledge, it poses challenges. But it is too early to give up on reading Mongminsimseo.
